Here's some interesting info on whats been going on
Man, things are hectic in my world!! But watching js7 put that riding clinic was the icing on the cake and also grabbed the poiints lead when RV2 had some struggles while leading the main event early on. But none the less, Oakland's first Supercross!
Turbo Trey41 charged HARD as always! Much respect from outlaw452.com, To all the 450 riders!
And Hanny pulled a smart second place as his new teammate Brock Tickle put himself in a good championship position as the Winner! Unfortunately last weekends winner, Cole Seely DNF'd. Tough break as he was only 6 points down from a championship run. Keep your chin up partner.. FYI, the rain interupter the first part of the Main.
Absolutely crazy! Drove to round 2 of the holeshot series at http://www.cowboybadlands.com/ but it was called short due to rain. Come on... This rain calls for pain and no riding. But http://www.threepalmsesp.com/ had a great event Satuerday, the 29th with my man "Grapes" grabbed a taste of victory! Back home now, watching X Games listening to my father complain anddrown the air with "negitive" energy! It's been a lot of that caround here as of late.
I have been waiting to say this. I hope what you read is something you can understand and agree with and if not please don't don't think bad of me. I simply want the best for our riders and ultimately, our Sport. Thank You for taking the time to read this.
I broke my neck in February 11, 2006 in San Diego/QualComm Stadium. It aired live on TV. Then replayed it over and over. They used the footage to help design the Leatt Neck Brace. The crash was disturbing, not only for the fans there that night, the millions listening live, but even me watching it 1 year post. It hurt in all ways possible, it took me back to the confusion that controlled my mind that disturbing night but not to mention everyone having parties watching the race and see me bobble head and not move again. The brace is here and it's still not enforced. WHY? It's not guaranteed to keep the neck from breaking but look at the ones who have worn it. It's much better outcomes than without one. Randy Childers is walking, Justin Weeks is doing pretty good, but the one key factor is "it not only affects you, it affects everyone around you." And I got to learn the hard way by being selfish and drove a LOT of people that love me away. All I could think was "I'm the one hurt, not you." and that was WRONG. It took those promising friendships to understand this.
I got onto RX or TWMX and it said "Josh Demuth Injured." My heart sank, trying to swallow nothing because the only thought to mind was of the way I was able to watch him ride the pro class while I'd be at my gate for Intermediate class watching and trying to figure out how he was pulling away. Where he was making up time? He is a very fluid rider. In Aww..............and no he doesn't have a spinal cord injury or thankfully anything beyond that. But we don't want this for our riders. We want to give them that security. We don’t have a union, the AMA only gives X amount of insurance and most riders are not insured because the price is UNREAL.
Racing motocross is ultimately a young man’s sport that can be so rewarding at times you feel like you could walk on water; now on the flip side, no one wants to come to the races to spectate and see yesterdays stars limping around or pushing or driving a wheel chair. But the question that sits in my mind is when are neck braces going to be enforced in the sanctioning bodies? When someone that holds the championship never stands again? When we have fatality while entertaining 60,000? Why wait that long? David Bailey came out and spoke his opinion, and though it was a huge hit to the motocross community, still nothing changed. David Bailey is an/the icon of Motocross and how many people REALLY listened? Probably not many because they don’t know or understand what goes on in a day’s life for a para or quad. Our nerve pain is enough to send your pain level to 10,000 on a scale of 1-10. Spasms, tone, therapy and all the way down to relationships with family or your significant other.
Why? Take care of the riders as if they were your own, otherwise I see the riders not showing up to entertain the crowd what you promised them. Sanctioning bodies…don’t let it go that far.
What a crazy season sx is going to be. Almost every 450 rider should be able to win on any given night. Chad Reed's twotwoMotorsports/Bel-Ray/PC Honda...crazy to sale the least. I had heard different things but thought he would have a ride..meaning factory, but he said "there weren't many options." Times ARE really hard then. Then picturing everyone else on a few different colors. Metcalfe going yellow with possibly the best teammate possible, Ryan Dungey. Who pushed everything and everyone to the side and hosted won just about everything in '10. But will he be able to do it without Roger? Speaking of Rog, is this Shorty's time? He's always the late bloomer and word is He's liking it over there. And if you've seen any video of Andrew, then you're getting every bit of Trey Canard. Dang, ...Fast! Then Pourcel didn't get a ride cause he was holding out for money! Weimer is loving that guy! Plus Weimer seems better with the fans, easier to work with, etc. Theres another one we haven't had a chance to watch much of. Now you know where I'm headed, Stewart. No footage that I've seen. A video of Malcolm and he was FLYING! Surge must have given him my tips, hahaha! But Stewart has only showed his face once, only for a YAMAHA commercial. Everyone, well it seems like everyone, says he's done. We haven't seen much of Dungey either. We know Justin Barcia will be fast if he decided to race any 450 races, Windham always has speed! And he's confident, that's bad news for the other riders. Tedesco, Hill and a slew of others where the default photo with a question mark. Of course we know they have speed but may be without some machinery they're not used to. Another crazy aspect! ..J-Law to race the first 2 or 3? He's got a bad rep but redemption may be his fuel for 2011 and I hope he does damage! Villopoto is looking great as always he just needs his turn and don't forget my boy JG33 on a Factory Honda. It seems like yesterday we were laying in my living room talking about which team we wanted to ride for. Good luck privateers! But I would try a 250F, no offense. Brayton stayed but brought Davi to the Joe Gibbs successful effort. Davi on a YZ? We'll see January 8th.
Then the 250 class. Josh Hanson should receive his C-ship now because if anyone dreams of beating him, they need to wake up and appologize! So we're gonna have some Fantastic racing on both coast I feel! We're going to see new champions which will show who holds the most maturity and support to keep it all together to win not only races but a championship. I'm really anxious to see what Tomac has in store, Malcolm, Barcia is due, Davalos is a yellow ROCKSTAR rider now. Of course Mitch, he fires from all cylinders no matter what he is racing, who he is hiring or what he is eating! hahaha! He owns the 250F world in his palm and and watch it spin & dance in his hands while he laughs! Then all our guest, Musquin and company. He was really fast at MXoN but looked like there was work to be done to get the job done. And I hope I am not right, Kudo's to Musquin. Here's you're chance, get it Buddy! Then our 6 kids we get to chase around (hopefully the podium that is), read more http://beta.racerxonline.com/2010/12/21/powerbar-to-fuel-shea-racing-sx-team. Wilbur's always hungry for a W.
But my money's not moving, they may say Bubba's done, naw, it's just begun.
I wanted give a HUGE "Thank You" to say the least for everyones ongoing support and love the industry continues to give me. Not only just here in Houston or Texas for that matter, but the entire country and more. A few weeks ago someone told me that Motocross needed me. But I wonder .... "why me?" I'm not perfect and no one walking this earth's surface is. Although its possibly one of the nicest most uplifting things anyone has ever said to me; but still, why me? My middle name is not Motocross, but I feel like all eyes are on me sometimes. Which I'm fine with. But still the support is mind blowing at all times it seems. But without each and EVERYONE of YOU this would not be made possible. I WANT ALL OF YOU TO KNOW THIS. On Feb 11, 2011 it will have been five years, although it seems like yesterday, none of you have forgotten me.
And as time continues to pass, where there were walls, they're are now doors. And typical "James Marshall" style, haha, I can't help but knock until someone answers. And the support always poors out and if it WEREN'T for you, I'm not sure where I'd be. At 26 years of age I feel I have experienced enough to write a book. A ruptured spleen at 9, years on the bike with minimal success then my FAMOUS crash at 21 and trying to understand life now.....sometimes I'm wondering when I'll wake up, but many positives and unfortunately many negetives.
